Initial Situation
In a previous project, “New sales channels” we identified and developed an idea for a new sales channel for a Swiss health insurer. The goal of this follow-up project was to further develop the idea and validate it with potential customers and distribution partners. The aim was to determine whether the idea had the potential to become a relevant additional sales channel for the health insurer, thereby providing a basis for resource allocation decisions.
Approach
To validate the idea, we first developed relevant hypotheses to be tested and the project objectives to be achieved in this phase. To validate the idea, we created a pitch deck and held an interactive workshop with the client to gather all internal stakeholders. At the same time, we had to identify the external stakeholders, prepare the exchange, create guidelines, and conduct the exchange for validation. While the external validation discussions were taking place, the solution was being designed and developed with the internal stakeholders, the implementation was being thought through, and a lean business case was being created. As a result, management received the results of the validated sales idea, including the lean business case, in time for the next year's project portfolio workshop.
